Summit pics of Blue Ridge

Well, here are the pictures from the summit of Blue Ridge mountain.

This is looking at Snow Mountain peaks #1 and #2

Looking down at the YMCA grounds. Can you see them?

These pictures were taken from the peak right in the middle of this picture.

The drive up to Blue Ridge Mountain summit

So then from the waterfall trailhead I decided to get back into the 4runner and drive up to the summit of Blue Ridge Mountain.

From the waterfall trailhead, the road begins to become more exciting!

Rocks make the trip more fun!

Getting closer. Love the view.

Had to flex her muscles a little bit.

Man I love my truck!

There are pictures from the top. But I have to go to work now. I'll try to post them later tonight.

Hike before work

Decided to go for a hike today before I started work. I hiked up to the waterfall and then up to the summit overlooking Snow mountain valley.

The road up to the trailhead...

Man i love these roads up here.

Here it is. The waterfall!

See, safe and sound!

Here is the summit above the waterfall.

Driving up Blue Ridge Mountain

Driving up to the peak of Blue Ridge Mountain.

The road to the summit. Couldn't take pics of the last stretch of it though. Needed to concentrate!

Sorry again about the sideways picture. I forgot the camera again and had to use my phone.

At the summit of approx. 11,000 ft.

Busy at work, still finding time.

Not alot of time for new pics and I apologize. Seems like i'm always forgetting my camera.

Well, works been really busy as we have the Heritage group coming up which is families with adopted Chinese children.

This pic is from the other night when I drove up Blue Ridge Rd. before sunset. We were close to the summit approx. 11,000 ft to watch the sunset.

This picture is the sunset over the mountains that I get to sit back and relax to almost every night!

Sorry bout the sideways shot and the quality on both as these were taken from my phone.

Grand Elk Golf Course

So I decided to go golfing at Grand Elk Golf Course. The course weaves in and out around vacation homes and cabins. Tee boxes were virtually untouched with greener than green fairways and rock hard greens. Because of the altitude golf balls fly farther than I have ever seen them do before.

View from the tee box.

GPS Navigation on the cart. Shows yardage on the entire hole.

Fairway view from the tee box.

As if the course wasn't already challenging enough they add a small river with a small waterfall to protect the green.

This shot was taken from the green looking back on the par 5, 18th hole. From the tee box you have to drive at least 200 yards to clear the pond and land safely on the fairway (I did by the way).

Rocky Mountain National Park

Entering Rocky Mountain National Park

Yep, that's a moose.

The tundra. The view was worth the scary drive!

Never Summer mountain range. This is what my snowboard is named after.

Fishing? Does Colorado have cool places to fish?

I think this is a moose track. Luckily I didn't run into him.

Adam's Falls. This is the 1st section of 3.

This little guy was busy gathering for winter. He seemed very interested in my nuts.

In the mountains

Have you ever seen a happier truck?

Thank god, no more driving!

Found this fun road. It's called Blue Ridge road and is located on the grounds. It was getting rougher the higher I went.

I will be back to drive the whole road to the summit of 11500 feet.

Another picture taken on the grounds.

Colorado here I am.

Finally made it. YAY

Entering the beautiful city of Denver where we stayed for the night.

We decided to go watch the Packers play the Broncos at Invesco Field.

What a great game. The Packers won by the way!

West Des Moines to Nebraska.

Made it safely into West Des Moines, Iowa
Stage 1 of the move succesfully done!

After leaving Iowa I was treated to a driving tour of the entire state of Nebraska.

This picture sums up the whole drive. Nothing but my truck and corn.

Moving to Colorado, day 1

All packed up and ready to go.
Last time the 4Runner will see this place...

My co-pilot for the journey out.

Crossing the Mississippi river and entering Iowa... Only 1 more state to cross before Colorado!

1st leg of the trip done. Arrived safe at Fairfield Inn in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Last night in Wisconsin

Last night being my last night in Wisconsin Katie, Mike, Amy, and myself decided to go out for dinner and some drinks.

We decided to go to Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Milwaukee as they had both food and beer!

Across the river was the new statue of the "Bronze Fonz". We snuck in (there was a pretty big line) to snap this picture with him.

Well what would you know. The Fonz wanted to wish me off in his own special way... Sorry bout the blurry pic...
EHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
