12/10/08 Breaking in the box

After much anticipation, the day finally came. The box we have set up outside of where we live is ready to ride... Ben, Cory, and myself decide we are the lucky ones to break it in...

Hard work pays off.

Who's gonna ride first?

Paper, Rock, Scissors.

Cory riding 50/50

Ben riding 50/50 coming straight at me.

Ready to drop in... Still need more snow...

My turn.

Locked in and riding.

Now time for a soft landing.

12/7/08 Zephyr lift opens to top of Winter Park

The Zephyr lift opened which takes you from the base of Winter Park (9000 Elev) to the top which is 10700ft. This lift also allows access to trails that take you to the Olympia Express lift and the Eskimo Express.

About 400 feet higher than base.

Lower Hughes run is to the left.

They're getting ready to open this run soon.

Getting higher.

Made it... Look familiar mom and dad? This is where we had Thanksgiving dinner (well, the restraunt behind me in this pic anyways)

Then you ride down March Hare to Jaberwocky and take the Olympia Express lift back up to get to the access of Mary Jane.

12/4/08 Pow Day @ Winter Park

Thank God for snow... Winter Park was blessed with 9 inches of fresh Gnar.... Gotta take advantage, you know it doesn't snow much out here in Colorado.

12/3/08 Burning wood piles on ground

A view of all the wood piles burning

S'mores anyone?

Maybe roast some hot dogs?

Or not.

Anyone wanna get closer to cook on an open flame?

Copper Mountain... Again 11/15/08

Went back out to Copper but took another route. This route bypassed Berthoud Pass and gave us a different look.

Driving in the Canyon.

The train snaking along the river.

Sharp pointy rocks.

More sharp pointy rocks.

Me and Luke at the base village @ Copper. This was his 2nd time riding.

Me and my friend Ann.

In the parking lot, ready to leave.

Good luck buddy.

Yeah Ben, that's kinda close!

11/7/08 Opening day @ Copper Mountain

Friday Copper Mountain officially opened up (as well as Keystone and Breckenridge). How could I miss opening day? Answer is I couldn't

And up. That building down below is actually halfway up the mountain.

Grand passes and beer. Two necessities for a great day.

11/6/08 Backcountry after a storm.

We got hit by a snow storm for the last couple days. So after riding in the storm last night I decide to go up into the mountains to do some backcountry riding before work. With over 1 1/2 feet of fresh champagne powder, my smile couldn't have been bigger.

Ahhhh the beauty!

Thank god for chairlifts at resorts. Hiking back up sucks!

Taking a much deserved break.

Took the 4runner for a drive

Took the 4runner off road on CR53 for a little muddy drive.

In a little valley area with a great view.

Different angle

That's the town of Granby in the distance.

The rock face.
